Spotlight: The New Pornographers -- 'Together'

The New Pornographers have been making sweet power pop tunes 'together' since 1997 (bad pun, eh?). Despite being somewhat upstaged by the release of Broken Social Scene's album the same day as their own, their latest effort, Together, has not gone unnoticed. Michael Franco, Associate Music Editor at Pop Matters, said of the album, "Together is another masterstroke from the New Pornographers, one of those rare albums that reminds even the most jaded ear of the joys of pop music".

For those unconvinced, The New Pornographers are so awesome that a woman in Utah has protested their visit to the state in a letter to the editor of the local newspaper. She discusses the moral degeneracy of "beer, wine, hipsters and The New Pornographers". Check out more details via Chart Attack.
